Dr. Dana Thomas<\/h2>\r\n

Veterinarian<\/h3>\r\n

Dr. Dana was called to the veterinary profession from a very young age. Her first words as a child were \u201cHi Cocoa,\u201d as she popped out her pacifier to greet their family German shepherd in her birthplace of Gainesville, FL. Returning to her father\u2019s native city of New Orleans where she grew up, she developed a strong love of animals, a deep desire to help care for them, and was encouraged by her family in her pursuits of a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Dana had many pets ranging from ferrets and birds to cats and dogs that taught her the importance of their health care and instilled in her a sense of responsibility and appreciation for all animal friends, big and small.\r\n

\r\nDr. Dana attended her undergraduate studies in Massachusetts at Amherst College and completed her DVM degree at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in Indiana before returning home to Louisiana to practice small animal medicine. Dr. Dana finds the most joy in caring for each of her patients as if they were her own and bonding with clients through education about their pets and a shared desire to help them live happy long lives.\r\n

\r\nWhen she\u2019s not at work she loves playing and exploring new adventures with her energetic son, and caring for her 2 dogs, Bean and Bailey-Mae, along with her 5 house-panthers Luna, Jazpurr, Whisker, Otis, and Jack, and her ball python, Dartagnon. She savors the outdoors, especially anything having to do in\/on\/ or around the water and particularly loves kayaking the bayous and lakes that adorn our southern Louisiana landscape. Spending time with family and friends keeps Dr. Dana grounded as does her meditation practice.\r\n<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Dr. Ashton Landryl<\/h2>\r\n

Veterinarian<\/h3>\r\n

Dr. Ashton Landryl is a dedicated veterinarian at CareVet of Franklin with a strong foundation in both clinical care and client communication. A Louisiana native, Dr. Landryl grew up in Franklin, LA, and pursued her undergraduate studies at McNeese State University before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in 2025. She is currently licensed in Louisiana and has completed additional training as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.

\r\n\r\nDr. Landryl has a broad range of clinical interests, with particular focus on surgery, preventative care, lameness, geriatric medicine, and hospice care.

\r\n\r\nOutside of the clinic, Dr. Landryl enjoys golf, reading, needlepoint, gardening, travel, and photography. She is also passionate about giving back, supporting organizations such as St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital and local churches.\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\r\n

Crystal Kidder<\/h2>\r\n

I have been employed with CareVet of Atchafalaya since 2005. As the Hospital Manager of our veterinary clinic, my passion is helping both pets and the people who love them. I strive to make every visit as comfortable and as stress-free as possible by supporting our team, guiding clients through their pets' care, and ensuring each family feels heard, valued, and cared for. My goal is to create a positive experience where compassionate service and quality veterinary care go hand in hand. I am a graduate of Berwick High School and attended Young Memorial. I am married to Chris Kidder and together we have two beautiful children and a grandson. I also have five dogs. My hobbies include camping, boating, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and traveling places I have never been.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n

I have been employed with CareVet of Atchafalaya since 2018.I am one of the first friendly faces you see when you walk through our doors, and the steady, reliable support our team counts on during the busiest days. My passion for animals, attention to detail, and willingness to always step up is what I take pride in. I am married to Christian Sargee and we have two children. We also have four dogs, Kimber, Henry, Willow Grace, and Violet. My favorite part about my job is that I get to help clients give their pets high-quality care. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and going ride in the boat.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Veterinary Technician<\/h3>\r\n

For as long as I can remember, animals have been more than just companions \u2014 they\u2019ve been family. That deep connection is what led me to become a Veterinary Technician, where I now spend each day helping pets live healthier, happier lives.With years of hands-on experience, I combine clinical skills with genuine compassion. Whether it\u2019s comforting a nervous dog, gently guiding a cat through recovery, or being a reassuring voice to a worried pet parent, I approach every patient with kindness, patience, and respect. My favorite part of the job isn\u2019t just the medicine \u2014 it\u2019s the moments. The tail wags after a successful surgery, the soft purrs during a wellness check, and the heartfelt thank you\u2019s from families who trust me with their beloved pets. Outside of the clinic, you\u2019ll often find me spending time with my family, swimming in the pool or cuddled up on the couch with a blanket; watching a movie. To me, being a vet tech isn\u2019t just a career, it\u2019s a calling.<\/p>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Lead Technician<\/h3>\r\n

Most of my life, I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian. I\u2019d dress up in my scrubs and stethoscope for career day at school, I\u2019d research everything \u201cveterinarian\u201d, and I\u2019d pretend to give my childhood dogs examinations. It wasn\u2019t until I worked at a local zoo that I realized my true call: Veterinary Technician. Working with an amazing team of vet techs changed my whole life. From that moment on, I knew exactly what my purpose was. I fell in love with myself and the industry throughout my career in vet medicine. It\u2019s not just a love of animals, but a passion. A passion for education. A passion for animal wellbeing. A passion for conservation. This is my drive to further my education. It will allow me to dive deeper into the veterinary world and learn about the things that interest me the most. It gives our clinic, our doctor, our patients and our clients someone who is passionate, experienced, and qualified to rely on. I give a piece of my heart to every patient that walks, hops, or flies into the clinic. I can\u2019t see myself doing anything else in the world, and I wouldn\u2019t want to. Jillian Morell<\/h2>\r\n

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had a deep love for animals. This journey has been driven by a lifelong passion for advocating and helping animals. I was deeply inspired by the experience of bringing home my puppy, Maggie. When I first brought her home, she was su\ufb00ering from gastrointestinal parasites, and that moment solidified my commitment to helping her, and every other pet in need. As someone new to veterinary medicine, I\u2019ve been fortunate to wear two hats\u2014 both as a receptionist and as a vet tech. Each role has given me a unique look into the world of animal care. One of my favorite things about veterinary medicine is that every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and make a di\ufb00erence.
