Our winged friends have very sensitive lungs, and can get sick from breathing fumes that are barely even noticeable to us. Small\/Sharp Objects <\/h2>\n

Anything small or sharp should be kept in a spot Polly can\u2019t reach. This includes things like jewelry, safety pins, paper clips, sewing kits, beads, and buttons. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Toxins <\/h2>\n
\n

Household cleaning agents, automotive products, paint, perfumes, medicines, fertilizers, pesticides, and all other chemicals are extremely toxic to birds. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Other Pets <\/h2>\n
\n

Fluffy and Fido are wonderful pets, but they aren\u2019t safe playmates for birds. Keep your furry pals in another area when Polly is out and about. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Heat <\/h2>\n
\n

Candles, fireplaces, gas burners, and potpourri burners are all dangerous to birds. Don\u2019t let Polly out if any of these are lit. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Appliances <\/h2>\n

Keep large appliances, like washers and dryers, closed when not in use. You\u2019ll also need to be careful with water. Birds can drown in just a few inches of water! Don\u2019t let your feathered friend have access to open toilets or filled sinks or tubs. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Kitchen Hazards <\/h2>\n

The kitchen is a dangerous place for birds. Knives and sharp cooking utensils are one concern. Your winged buddy could also get hurt by landing on a hot burner, or in a pot of hot food or liquid on the stove. Cooking fumes are another issue. Many types of modern cookware emit vapors that are toxic to birds. Plus, there\u2019s also the issue of unsafe foods. Keep Polly out of the kitchen! <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
