Dr. Amanda Shaw

Veterinarian

Dr. Shaw is a 2010 Graduate of Texas A&M Vet School and has worked at the clinic since graduation. Her special interests lay in soft tissue/orthopedic surgery and dentistry. Hobbies outside work include hiking and fishing trips with her husband and two children, along with working towards a black belt in Kajukenbo.

Dr. Jennifer Robinson

Veterinarian

Originally from New Mexico, Dr. Robinson graduated from Texas A&M University in 2014 and has been a part of our clinic team ever since. Her professional interests include ultrasound, internal medicine, and dermatology. When she's not at the clinic, she enjoys reading, meeting with her book club, and spending time with her cats and dogs.

Dr. Navarro Torres

Veterinarian

Dr. Navarro Torres was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from Ross University in 2015. Dr. Navarro is fluent in both English and Spanish and is learning Portuguese. She enjoys trying new foods and traveling.

Dr. Lawhon

Relief Veterinarian

Dr. Lawhon has been practicing veterinary medicine for nearly 50 years. After earning his DVM from Texas A&M University, he began his career caring for thoroughbred racehorses at Belmont Park Racetrack before returning to Texas. He owned and operated a successful animal practice in Abilene for 43 years and now provides relief veterinary services throughout West Texas.

Proud to be part of the rotation at CareVet University, Dr. Lawhon enjoys working alongside Dr. Shaw, Dr. Robinson, and Dr. Navarro and appreciates the welcoming collaborative environment created by the entire team. He values building relationships with clients and helping them feel confident that their pets are receiving exceptional care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Lawhon enjoys hunting, fishing, ranching, and spending time with his wife, their daughter and family, including four grandsons. His Christian faith is an important part of his life and continues to guide his commitment to serving others with compassion and integrity.
