Care You Can Count On
Newington Veterinary Clinic was founded in 1972 by Dr. Joseph Helfand. Dr. Helfand provided medical and surgical care for the pets of Newington until his retirement in 2001. Dr. Lynn Fortin, a Newington native, purchased the clinic in 2001 and provided compassionate care and high-quality, evidence-based medicine, until her retirement in 2024. Now, the current doctors and staff of Newington Veterinary Clinic continue to work in the community-based tradition of Dr. Helfand and Dr. Fortin. We work hard to provide great customer service and thoughtful, high-quality care to the pets and clients who visit our practice.

We’ve always had a great experience with the staff and Vets at Newington Veterinary Clinic. We’ve taken our chihuahuas and terriers there for over 15 years.

We brought our cat here for a Wellness exam. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our cat's needs. Special shout out to our tech Charley, the practice manager, and Dr. Bedarf for handling our boy with care.
